This elegant sencha is evidence true talent, crafted by master tea artisan Oizumi-san. Though not organic certified, he relies on the balance of nature and a natural compost of seed meal and hay to grow this premium organic green tea.
The rugged coastal mountains of the Kumano district offer ideal tea cultivation conditions, far from the polluted air of developed urban areas. Fresh sea winds promote healthy growth while the cool nights, contrasting with sunny days, stress the plants and yield highly complex flavours not found in the average sencha.
Sencha Sora is a go-to tea for balance, both in flavour and body-feel. Smooth, buttery richness gives way to notes of sweet chestnut and a hint of savoury edamame. A wintergreen/herbaceous note lingers on the palate long after the tea is gone.
Sencha Sora also has a profound grounding effect. It is the perfect tea to sip before a meditation session, or to savour first thing in the morning. Clean, complex and deep, this sencha is affordable enough to be an everyday tea, but sophisticated enough to delight the connoisseur.
