Washi is traditional Japanese paper made from the bark of various trees, the most common being the paper mulberry bush or kōzo. During the winter months, when available water ran cold, farmers would supplement their income making washi with a process that requires many manual steps. Washi paper is exceptionally durable, and soft and silken to the touch.
Our washi paper tins are adorned with bold and modern geometric designs. Each comes with a snug fitting inner metal lid plus the snug, washi covered outer lid to keep your tea as fresh as possible.
