Sencha Ichi is a competition grade sencha made by Marukyu Koyamaen, one of Japan's most respected and esteemed tea producers with a history spanning at least 300 years. With thirty-eight 1st place awards at two Japanese Tea Exhibitions, you can be assured you're getting the highest quality tea available.
Looking very much like a high quality gyokuro, with deep green colour and long needle like leaves, this highly refined sencha is more on the Asamushi end of the steaming spectrum. Light body, well developed umami yet balanced by a light astringency.
