Sencha Miyakonojo is the premier sencha produced by the Nihoncha Award winning tea farm Igeta Seicha, located in Miyazaki prefecture, one of Japan's finest tea regions. Produced from 100% Okumidori cultivar, the first harvest leaves undergo traditional asamushi, or light steaming, producing an exceptionally clear, vibrant green liquor. The characteristic deep umami flavour of Okumidori can be fully enjoyed due to the virtual lack of astringency created by a short period of shading prior to harvest.
